53rd Annual Bluebonnet Festival
The Bluebonnet Festival this year will take place on April 8 and 9, 2017 in Chappel Hill.
The times of the festival will be as following: April, 8 2017 (Saturday): 9am to 6pm April, 9 2017 (Sunday): 10am to 3pm |
Where to find the festival: Chappel Hill, Texas It is located on Hwy. 290 between Houston and Austin. It is 8 miles east of Brenham and 13 miles west of Hempstead |
Parking & admission fees: There are no admission fees, but there is a $5 parking fee. The parking lot is located on FM 1155 a short distance north of the intersectionof Hwy. 290 and FM 1155. |
This year, all the booths and vender spaces are filled for this event. Expect to find more than 250 juried exhibitors of various kinds (home décor, gardening, artists, craftsmen, jewelry, clothing, etc.), delicious country-style food, live entertainment and music, and tours of the historic community. A special Children’s Activity Corner provides pony rides, a petting zoo, face painting, barrel train and more. A special Wildflower Photo exhibit will be on display at the Chappell Hill Museum Exhibit Gallery during April and May. The Bluebonnet Festival was declared the "Official Bluebonnet Festival of Texas" by the Texas Legislature and was voted #7 as "Most Popular Festival in Texas" by Texas Highways magazine.
The Festival is hosted by the Chappell Hill Historical Society, a non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to the preservation of the community's history and historic buildings. The Society's goal is to stage a high-quality, fun show in the downtown National Historic District. Our town is located among some of the most scenic areas of Washington County and boasts friendly people and a casual lifestyle. The festival area is Main Street, Poplar Street, and the property behind the Visitor's Center.
